The shopping highlight of the year will start soon; it’s a midday sale, and everything will be gone! The clothing companies sell away the latest garments, and it is tempting to go shopping!
At the same time, reports tell us that the textile industry, after the oil industry, harms the environment the most. It generates more greenhouse gases than the world’s combined air, sea, and sea transport! *
While it may seem like an uphill battle, we can collectively make a difference in these discouraging statistics. It’s time for a fresh perspective, a rethink! Before making unnecessary purchases, let’s first take a closer look at our closets and dressers at home to avoid buying items we already possess. An even wiser choice is to redirect that money towards experiencing indulgent treats or consider setting it aside for an upcoming trip or an essential purchase. Together, we can reshape our consumption habits and have a positive impact.
So, we challenge you and your loved ones not to empty your wallet just because it’s on sale. Eat well, hang out with your loved ones, and enjoy instead! We see it as a slightly delayed Christmas present for our planet.
