The Nordic Swan Eco-label, one of the world’s toughest environmental certifications, is awarded to products and services meeting strict environmental requirements.
Established in 1989 by the Nordic Council of Ministers, it is a voluntary scheme for Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden aimed at reducing consumption’s environmental impact.
The label promotes resource efficiency, reduced climate impact, non-toxic circular economy, and biodiversity conservation, with a strong focus on health. It considers the entire lifecycle from raw materials to disposal. With this, the credible, third-party certification helps consumers and buyers choose environmentally friendly goods and services, guiding companies to develop sustainable products.
