Oxford fabric is a 2 x 1 basket weave. It is a warp and weft technique in which two threads in the warp are woven together with one thread in the weft. Usually, the two warp threads are as thick as the weft thread, creating a visible diagonal line in the weave.
Oxford weaving gives the fabric a slightly robust appearance while retaining its softness. Oxford fabric is appropriate for casual shirts and other garments such as trousers, skirts, dresses, bags, and other accessories.
