Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)—The Textile Exchange’s standard focuses on the welfare of sheep and their pastures. RWS certifies all actors in the wool value chain, from wool farmers to yarn and textile producers to clothing brands. Certification for wool farms includes criteria for animal welfare and land management. Other actors in the value chain are certified according to different criteria, aiming to trace raw materials through all stages and ensure the content of a product.
Responsible Down Standard (RDS)—The Textile Exchange’s standard for down and feathers ensures the humane treatment of the animals used. Like the Responsible Wool Standard, the RDS sets criteria for animal welfare and value chain actors.
